(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 13 FEB - Fincantieri and Leonardo signed
several additional memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with
potential new Greek suppliers to cooperate with the local
industrial ecosystem and strengthen collaboration between Italy
and Greece. With the signing - a joint statement pointed out -
the two companies laid the foundations for the definition of a
possible business relationship.
The event took place today in Elefsis, where Onex Elefsis
Shipyards is based, "a pivotal site - the statement explains -
of Fincantieri's strategy should the Group, as prime contractor,
be awarded the Hellenic Navy corvette program promoted by the
Greek Ministry of Defense."
Italy's team, including Fincantieri and Leonardo - as system
integrator for the Combat Management System and the primary
naval sensors, systems, and artillery - and MBDA Italia and
Elettronica, "is united in supporting the development of a
wide-ranging shipbuilding partner with advanced and reliable
skills."
Following the deal to initiate a possible supply chain in
Greece, Fincantieri signed an agreement with Onex Shipyards &
Technologies Group to establish a production and maintenance
line for corvettes throughout their lifecycle at Elefsis
