(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 07 MAR - Friuli Venezia Giulia scored a
12.2 percent increase in the overall presence of German and
Austrian tourists in 2022 compared to 2019, a pre-pandemic year,
breaking through the 3m threshold (3,118,662). Regional Tourism
Councillor Sergio Emidio Bini brought these numbers to the ITB
(Internationale Tourismus Boerse) in Berlin, where the Italian
Pavilion opened. Friuli Venezia Giulia is present inside the
ENIT booth with 13 operators.
In detail, the increase in Austrian presence in Friuli Venezia
Giulia from 2019 to 2022 was 138,789 guests (up 8.6 percent) and
201,436 (up 17.2 percent) for Germans.
For the operators of Friuli Venezia Giulia attending the ITB,"
reads a statement, "the return to Berlin aims to increase
further the attendance of German and Austrian tourists in
particular, but also to attract the attention of other Central
and Eastern European countries and the domestic market, given
the presence of national players."
More than 10,000 exhibitors from 180 countries are attending ITB
Berlin. The showcase will be closing on March 9. (ANSA).
