(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 26 - A dog breeder was found dead in the Apennines near Arezzo on Thursday.
The woman was found in the snow, 5 km from the nearest village, Badia Tedalda.
The body was on an isolated path.
According to investigations commissioned by the Arezzo Public Prosecutor's Office, she was killed by a heart attack, almost certainly caused by the cold.
The victim, 50-year-old Cristiana Gugu, had lived in the Cocchiola oasis for some time. She lived alone in a small wooden house in the woods.
In summer the area is frequented by hikers but in winter it is isolated and deserted, and with the snowfall of the past few days even less so. The three dogs that had been following her were found dead, save those that remained in her kennel. (ANSA).
