(ANSA) - ROME, APR 12 - G7 academies on Friday asked the
group's governments for a commitment against nuclear weapons at
the end of a two-day meeting hosted by the Accademia dei Lincei
in Rome.
"The G7 Academies call on the leaders of their countries to
reaffirm their commitment to moving towards a world free of
nuclear weapons and to work towards this goal," the document
reads.
Indeed, the academics note that, "after a prolonged period of
decline in the number of nuclear warheads, there is a risk of a
reversal of the trend". (ANSA).
