'Egypt and EU oppose Israeli attack on Rafah' - Sisi

Region will always be unstable without 2-state solution

(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 17 - Egypt and EU oppose the planned Israeli attack on Rafah, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi said after a summit in Cairo with EU leaders Sunday.
"We and the European leaders agreed to reject the possibility of a military operation by Israel at Rafah, which would double the extent of the humanitarian catastrophe suffered by civilians in the Gaza Strip," he said.
"Egypt, in particular," he added, "affirms its rejection of any forced displacement of Palestinians beyond the Strip, which would result in a liquidation of the Palestinian cause, which Egypt openly rejects".
He said the region will always be unstable without a two-state solution. (ANSA).
