(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 20 - The European Union must give new
signals of support for Ukraine in its war against the Russian
invasion, Premier Giorgia Meloni told German Chancellor Olaf
Scholz over the phone Monday.
"The Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, had a telephone
conversation with the German Federal Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, in
preparation for the European Council of 23-24 March," said her
office at Palazzo Chigi.
"At the centre of the conversation (were:) the priority on the
part of the European Council to give a further signal of
all-round support to Ukraine; a rapid implementation of the
decisions of the February European Council for a finally
European management of migratory flows; and European solutions
for the competitiveness of the continent's economies, through
the full use of the appropriate EU instruments." (ANSA).
