German abuse victim denounces Benedict XVI

Then Munich archbishop 'knew of crimes and ignored them' in '80s

(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 22 - A German victim of a paedophile priest has denounced Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI for knowing about the abuse and doing nothing about it when he was archbishop of Munich and Freising in the 1980s, according to German media.
The then Archbishop Jospeh Ratzinger "had knowledge of the situation and at the very least took lightly the possibility that this priest could repeat his crimes," reported Correctiv, Die Zeit and Beyrische Rundfunk.
The unnamed victim accuses Benedict and other Church authorities of welcoming the predator, Peter H., into his diocese despite his previous crimes.
Peter H. then continued to commit them, according to reports.
