More connection means better results for Africa- Sparkle CEO

Head of TIM's global operator talks of opportunity at Expo 2020

(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 14 - Better communications and connectivity can play a key told in helping Africa achieve its potential, Elisabetta Romano, the CEO of Sparkle, the TIM Group's global operator, has said at Expo 2020 Dubai.
    "The more connected African countries are, the greater the results their economies will register," Romano said.
    "We aim to sustain education and eHealth thanks to high-performing connections and IoT.
    "Africa has incredible potential but a great deal depends on the approach of its peoples.
    "Africans are open to new technologies.
    "We at Sparkle give them the basis to do business, which is international connectivity, then we work with them to find solutions within the Internet of Things, IoT, to develop solutions in the fields of medicine, education and much else".
    Sparkle was the first in the world to enable 5G roaming between Europe and the Middle East back as early as August 2019.
    It is providing the Italy Pavilion with international connectivity to enable high quality digital services and experiences, including high definition streaming and augmented reality solutions. (ANSA).
