(ANSA) - Berlin, January 18 - President Sergio Mattarella
said on a visit to Berlin Friday that Italy respected Brexit but
"we only ask for clarity on the positions".
"We have great respect for the UK's decision to leave the EU,
Britain remains a friendly and allied country, but we only ask
for clarity on the positions," he said.
Mattarella said Britain's leaving the EU was "cause for
regret" because "we underline the value of the European Union".
