(ANSA) - Berlin, January 18 - German Chancellor Angela Merkel
on Friday praised Premier Giuseppe Conte's calm demeanour and
said she "focused" on him rather than his more outspoken deputy
premiers Matteo Salvini and Luigi Di Maio.
Speaking to visiting President Sergio Mattarella, Merkel said
"I appreciate Giuseppe Conte's style, very calm".
She said "I concentrate on him rather than what the
individual ministers say".
Merkel added that Germany was working with Italy "in a
climate of confidence".
