NGO fears mental and physical health may worsen

Redazione Ansa

(ANSA) - Rome, January 7 - Some of the 32 migrants who have been stranded in the Mediterranean on board NGO ship Sea Watch for 17 days have now started refusing food, the German NGO said in a tweet Monday.
Sea Watch reiterated the fear that "their psychological and health state may markedly worsen".
It said "on board the Sea watch we are registering episodes of people refusing food.
"We can't believe that all this is happening a few miles from European coasts".
Sea Watch and Sea Eye- another NGO ship with 17 migrants aboard - have been off Malta for days as Italy and other countries have refused to open their ports to the migrants.
