Italian fighter for Kurds dies in Syria

(ANSA) - Rome, January 7 - An Italian fighter in Kurdish YPG forces in Syria, Bergamo-born Giovanni Francesco Asperti, has died, the YPG said in news confirmed by the Italian foreign ministry.
    The consulate in Erbil is following the case and is in touch with his relatives, the ministry said.
    The man whose nom de guerre was Hiwa Bosco, was the victim of an "unfortunate accident while on duty at Derik on December 7", the YPG said.
