(ANSAmed) - ROME, NOVEMBER 20 - Libyan armed forces have
pushed their way onto The Nivin, a boat carrying 79 migrants
that had been stuck in the Misrata port for two days.
There have been reports of violence and injured people taken
to hospital, with others taken by force to Libyan centers, said
Mediterranea, an NGO that uses its Mare Jonio ship to monitor
the situation and incidents in the sea near Libya.
"Italy and the EU must take responsibility for their
political choices, the NGO added. "We want to know what has
happened to every one of the refugees."
At least 5 migrants were injured in the operation by the
Libyan security forces, who shot rubber bullets onboard the
Panamanian-flagged Nivin, UNHCR sources said. (ANSAmed).
