(ANSA) - Brussels, October 19 - Political responsibility is
needed for fair development, Premier Giuseppe Conte told the
ASEM summit on Friday.
"We must listen to and respond to the needs of wellbeing,
equity and dignity, promoting globalisation but managing its
distortions," the Italian premier told the Asia-Europe Meeting.
"We need a governance that can ensure sustainable
development, guaranteeing fair and dignified living conditions
for all, starting with young people.
"Expressing a governance means avoiding trusting exclusively
to the primacy of the market, which in a global space tends to
become tyrannical, and we must assume the responsibilities of
politics".
