EP election 4% bar put to top court (2)

(ANSA) - Rome, August 23 - The Council of State, Italy's top administrative court, on Tuesday referred to the Constitutional Court an appeal by the small rightist Brothers of Italy party against a 4% entry bar in European Parliament elections. The appeal had previously been turned down by a regional administrative court (TAR). The Brothers of Italy (Fratelli d'Italia, FdI) have for some time been campaigning against the bar, which ruled them out of the EP in the last elections in 2014.
