Pope asks forgiveness for cruelty

(ANSA) - Rome, July 29 - Pope Francis asked for God's forgiveness for the cruelty of the Holocaust during a visit to Auschwitz on Friday.
    "Lord, have pity on your people! Lord, forgive such cruelty!" Francis wrote in Spanish at the former concentration camp near Krakow, according to a tweet from the memorial museum there.
