470 bodies found in Tikrit mass graves

(ANSA) - Rome, May 28 - Iraqi authorities have found the bodies of 470 people in mass graves near to city of Tikrit, which the Baghdad government regained control of from the ISIS Islamist group in March, media reports said Thursday. The bodies are thought to belong to some of the up to 1,700 victims of the Speicher massacre by ISIS last year. Most of those victims were Shiite youths.
