Saving lives up to EU and member states

(ANSA) - Brussels, March 4 - Saving lives in the Mediterranean is the job of both the EU and member states, European Home Affairs and Migration Commissioner Dimitris Avramopoulos said Wednesday after the latest migrant boat disaster killed 10 people. "Operation Triton has already saved thousands of human lives but it's true that we must do even more and it's the job of both the EU and the member states to save lives, we have no other choice," he said.
