New York axe attack linked to terror

(ANSA) - Washington, October 24 - A man who attacked two police officers in New York with an axe before being shot dead was linked to Islamist extremism, authorities in the city said Friday.
    One of the officers suffered serious head injuries.
    The attacker, 32-year-old Zale Thompson, had published declarations on the Internet that showed "an inclination to rasim and extremist tendencies", police said.
