Pope prays for peace, only arms makers earn

(ANSA) - ROME, APR 24 - Pope Francis said Wednesday he was praying for peace in the Middle East, Ukraine and other war-torn parts of the world and said that only arms manufacturers were currently gaining from the various conflicts.
    "In was only arms makers win," he said.
    Faith, hope and charity, the three prime theological virtues, were an "antidote to self-sufficiency," he added at his weekly general audience in St Peter's Square.
    Francis also said that pride was a "powerful poison which even ruins lives dedicated to good".
    The Argentine pontiff gave four kids a ride on his pope-mobile before the audience. (ANSA).
