Don't close hearts amid so many wars says pope

(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 14 - Poe Francis appealed at his weekly general audience in the Vatican Wednesday for people around the world not to "close their hearts amid so many wars.
    "When faced with so many wars, let us not close our hearts to those who are in need, let prayer, fasting and alms giving be the path to building peace," said the pope to Polish pilgrims, marking the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday.
    "Let us intensify our prayers for peace" said the Argentine pontiff, appealing for "the martyred Ukraine, Palestine and Israel". (ANSA).
