(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 30 - Benedict XVI's condition remains
stable and the ex pope is still attending Mass in the former
monastery in the Vatican where the ailing 95-year-old German
cleric lives, sources close to him said Friday.
Benedict XVI's health remains "stable", according to reports
from sources in the Mater Ecclesiae Monastery in the wake of
Pope Francis entreaties to pray for his predecessor's worsening
condition.
At the moment no further details have been leaked other than
that the Pope emeritus continued Friday morning, in his room and
despite the difficulties of a still serious clinical picture, to
attend Mass, concelebrating it with his long-time assistant Mgr
Georg Gaenswein and simply wearing a light stole over his
hospital gown.
The four memores domini Vatican officials and the nurse Brother
Eligius continue to form around Ratzinger, who is being kept
under constant medical supervision by his personal doctor, a
cordon of continuous security and assistance, the sources said.
