(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 29 - Ex pope Benedict is refusing to be moved to hospital to treat worsening respiratory problems that spurred his successor Pope Francis to urge prayers for his health, German tabloid Bild reported Thursday.
"Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI reportedly does not want to be taken to hospital despite being seriously ill", said Bild.
It said the 95-year-old former pope's residence in the former Mater Ecclesiae monastery had the necessary medical equipment, however.
"There he is continuously monitored by doctors," it said.
