(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 13 - Russia welcomes the Vatican's efforts
at mediation in the Ukraine war, the head of the Russian foreign
ministry's European department told Ria Novosti Monday.
"The Vatican leadership has repeatedly declared its willingness
to provide all possible assistance to reach peace and put an end
to hostilities in Ukraine," said the official, Alexey Paramonov.
"These statements have been confirmed in practice.
"We maintain an open and reserved dialogue on a series of
issues, principally linked to the humanitarian situation in
Ukraine". (ANSA).
