(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 26 - Pope Francis said parents should not condemn their children if they are gay as he discussed the problems of parenthood during his weekly general audience in the Vatican on Wednesday.
"I think about parents whose children are facing difficulties, parents whose children have a different sexual orientation," the Argentine pontiff said.
"(I think) about how to handle this and be at the side of the children and not hide in an attitude of condemnation.
    "Never condemn a child".
In 2013, the pope famously said "who am I to judge?" gay people who are seeking God.
On Wednesday the head of the Catholic Church also spoke about parents whose children are ill, or who have been injured in accidents, or who have difficulties learning.
He told parents in these situations not to be frightened, but to think of God. (ANSA).
