(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 10 - Pope Francis on Monday reiterated his call for COVID-19 vaccines to be available to the whole world and blasted political indecisiveness with regards to the fight against the coronavirus.
"There must be political commitment to pursue the good of the population via prevention and immunization decisions that involve citizens so they can feel involved and responsible, via transparent communication of the problems and the right measures to address them," the pope told the diplomatic corps.
"The lack of firm decisions and clear communication generates confusion, creates a lack of confidence, undermines social cohesion and feeds tension.
"It is important that the effort to immunize as much of the population as possible continues," he added.
"This requires a multiple effort at the personal and political level and of the entire international community, (but) above all at the personal level.
"We all have a responsibility to care for ourselves and our health, which translates into having respect for the health of those close to us.
"Caring for one's health is a moral obligation". (ANSA).
