(ANSA) - Vatican City, November 8 - Pope Francis at his
general audience Wednesday reproached those who take photos with
their cell phones during Mass.
Referring to a phrase in the Mass when the priest says "lift
up your hearts", the pontiff said, "He doesn't say 'lift up your
cell phones to take a photo.
"It saddens me when I'm celebrating Mass in the square and
the basilica and I see so many cell phones lifted up," he said.
"Please - Mass isn't a show," he said to the more than 13,000
people gathered for the general audience at which he began a new
cycle of catechism teachings focusing on the Mass.
"It's very important to get back to the essential".
