(ANSA) - Vatican City, October 27 - Pope Francis used the
Italian-language papal Twitter account on Thursday to express
his solidarity with the people affected by the new earthquake in
central Italy.
"I am close with prayer to the people hit by the new
earthquake in central Italy," the pope said via the @Pontifex_it
account.
Earlier this month the pope visited villages devastated by
the August 24 6.0-magnitude quake that left almost 300 dead.
"I didn't come before to avoid creating problems, given
your condition," the pope told people in Amatrice.
"I didn't want to be a nuisance".
