Georgia 'bridge between Europe, Asia'

(ANSA) - Tbilisi, September 30 - Pope Francis on Friday described Georgia as a country that has helped bridge different cultures during a meeting with authorities and diplomats in Tbilisi.
    He said the country's history has fully placed it "within the bedrock of European civilization".
    At the same time, the pontiff noted, Georgia is a "natural bridge between Europe and Asia" that has made trade and dialogue possible over the centuries, and facilitated relations between different worlds.
