(ANSA) - Vatican City, September 28 - Pope Francis admired
Shimon Peres as a "man of peace", Vatican spokesman Greg Burke
said Wednesday after the pontiff sent a telegram of condolences
following the death of the former Israeli president. He added
that the pope hopes that Peres's "legacy inspires everyone to
make every effort for peace". In the telegram, the pope said he
was "deeply pained" by Peres's death.
