Jesus offers self as spiritual food

(ANSA) - Vatican City, May 26 - Pope Francis tweeted Thursday on the occasion of the Corpus Domini (Body of the Lord) feast that "Jesus gives Himself to us in the Eucharist, offers Himself as spiritual food that sustains our life". Francis will celebrate mass outside the Basilica of St John Lateran at 19:00 this evening and after the traditional procession along Via Merulana with the Most Holy Sacrament, will deliver his Eucharistic blessing outside the Basilica of St Mary Major.
