(ANSA) - Vatican City, September 3 - The Vatican press office
said Thursday that during Israeli President Reuven Rivlin's
first audience with Pope Francis "the need and urgency to
promote a climate of trust between Israelis and Palestinians
were highlighted, and to relaunch direct talks to reach an
accord respectful of the legitimate aspirations of the two
peoples, as a fundamental contribution to the peace and
stability of the region. Francis has often called for peace
between the Israeli and the Palestinians.
