Pope says Christians must choose

'Rely on God because salvation is history', Francis says

(ANSA) - Vatican City, December 18 - Christians must choose between God and money, Pope Francis said in a new tweet Thursday.
"The Lord put it clearly: you cannot serve two masters. You have to choose between God and money," he told the faithful via his @Pontifex Twitter profile, followed by 17 million people in nine languages. Also on Thursday the pope reminded Christians to rely on God even in the darkest hours, including when it is not clear how He is working.
"God's will has been to save us in history," said Francis during a homily at the Santa Marta guesthouse in the Vatican where he lives.
Christian salvation "is not sterile, as in a laboratory.
No! It's history. (God) has walked through history with His people," he continued.
"And so, step by step, history is made. God makes history, we make history; and when we fail, God makes adjustments and sets history back on course, walking with us all the time," the pope said. "If this is not clear to us, we will never understand Christmas! We will never understand the Incarnation of the Word! Never! It's a story that goes forward in time," he concluded. http://popefrancisnewsapp.com/
