(ANSA) - Vatican City, October 30 - The devil exists and
must be fought, Pope Francis said in a homily in the Vatican on
Thursday.
"This generation, and many others, have been led to believe
that the devil is a myth, a figure, an idea, the idea of evil.
But the devil exists and we must fight against him," the pope
told faithful gathered for Mass at St Martha's guesthouse where
he resides.
"But we are not totally convinced," continued Francis,
exhorting Christians to put on "the armour of God: the truth".
"Life is a militia. The Christian life is a fight, a
beautiful fight, because when the lord is victorious in every
step of our lives he gives us joy," the Pope said.
