The 'Soul' model of the Korean-manufactured Kia, which is popular in the Asian country as well as in Italy, was deemed appropriate for Francis.
At home in Rome, the pope often prefers an old Ford Focus for travel and during a trip to Brazil, favoured a Fiat Idea MPV, eschewing larger formal automobiles.
The pope arrived Thursday for a five-day visit to South Korea.
