(ANSA) - Brescia, May 13 - Prosecutors are investigating 13
people for a large crucifix in the mountains of northern Italy
that fell and crushed to death a young man last month, court
records showed Tuesday. The 30-meter-high sculpture, which was
built to honor pope John Paul II's 1998 visit to Brescia, killed
the 21-year-old victim just three days before John Paul was
canonized and became a saint. The artist behind the cross was
the late set designer Enrico Job, the husband of celebrated
Italian filmmaker Lina Wertmueller.
