To be distributed by free health-care group Medicina Solidale

(ANSA) - Rome, April 18 - Pope Francis on Friday donated 200 food packages for low-income families living in the Tor Bella Monaca suburb of Rome.
The packages contained bread, pasta, milk, oil, fruit, biscuits, jams, and many chocolate Easter eggs. They will be distributed by Medicina Solidale (Solidarity Medicine), an aid group providing free food and health care to low-income families, both Italians and immigrants. Last year, Medicina Solidale distributed 1,500 food packages and had doctors visit 10,000 people in Tor Bella Monaca alone. "Thanks to private donations, we have been working for years to help out the many families who can't make ends meet," said Medicina Solidale Director Lucia Ercoli.
"Today we know we are not alone, and that Pope Francis supports us in our mission of hope".
