(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 10 - Inter took the upper hand of their Champions League semi-final against city rivals AC Milan on Wednesday, winning the first leg 2-0 thanks to early goals by Edin Džeko and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Bosnia forward Džeko struck on eight minutes to put Inter in front, doing well to volley home from a corner while being tightly marked.
Armenia midfielder Mkhitaryan doubled the lead just three minutes later, latching onto a pass on the edge of the area and surging into the box to fire home.
Milan's goalkeeper Mike Maignan kept his side in the tie early in the second half, denying Džeko another goal with his feet.
The closest Milan came to pulling one back was when Sandro Tonali hit the post with a powerful shot on 63 minutes. (ANSA).
