(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 28 - Serie A's first woman referee, Maria
Sole Ferrieri Caputi, will make her top-flight debut on Sunday,
referees' association AIA said Wednesday.
The 32-year-old Livorno-born sociology graduate will take charge
of Sassuolo-Salernitana, on the eighth day of play in Serie A.
Ferrieri Caputi has already officiated at a Serie B match and
last December became the first woman to ref an Italian Cup tie
featuring a Serie A side, Cagliari.
On the latter occasion she disallowed three goals. (ANSA).
