Soccer: Redbird buys AC Milan

(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 31 - New York-based private investment company Redbird has bought seven-time European champions and current Serie A champs AC Milan from another US financial firm, the Elliott Group, after a preliminary deal was reached over the last few days, sources said Tuesday.
    Redbird owner Gerry Cardinale is expected to make the formal announcement of the purchase shortly.
    AC Milan fans are still celebrating their team's 19th Serie A crown and their first scudetto since 2011.
    Elliott Management Corp bought the Rossoneri from long-time owner and three-time Italian premier Silvio Berlusconi in 2018.
