(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 24 - Czech Jan Hirt on Tuesday won the
16th stage of the Giro d'Italia, a 202 km mountainous run from
Salò to Aprica in northern Italy, in a solo breakaway.
Dutchman Thymen Arensman was second, at 8".
Ecuador's Richard Carapaz kept the leader's pink jersey by only
3" over Australia's Jai Hindley, who crossed the line with him
but claimed third place and a 4" bonus. (ANSA).
