Expo Dubai: Turin 2025 winter university game logo presented

(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 27 - The logo for the Turin 2025 winter world university games has been presented at the Italian Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.
    It shows iconic city landmark the Mole Antonelliana stylised in FISU colours, skis and the blue symbol of winter sports forming a large U and, underneath, the words Torino 2025.
    Turin and Piedmont will host the Winter World University Game on January 13-23 2025.
    The logo was created by Turin university student Matteo Belletti, who said he had been inspired by the logo for the 2006 Winter Olympics in the northern Italian city.
    "While not being an athlete," he said, "taking part with this logo will make me feel part of this great event that brings people together".
    The logo was unveiled by the president of the organizing committee and of Edisu Piemonte, Alessandro Sciretti, the committee vice president and president of Cus Torino, Riccardo D'Elicio, and the honorary president of the committee and regional sports councillor Fabrizio Ricca. "With this logo, which represents all the beauty of Turin and Piedmont, we are pressing the start button for this extremely important adventure," said Ricca, "which gives us a chance to look to the future and imagine a Turin ever more a university city, not only for teaching excellence but also for its links to sport" (ANSA).
