(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 29 - Juventus has said it is confident it respected the law after confirming that the club and several top officials were under investigation in a criminal probe into player trades done between 2019 and this year.
The club confirmed that Chairman Andrea Agnelli and Vice-Chairman Pavel Nedved are under investigation.
Former chief football officer Fabio Paratici, now with Tottenham Hotspur, is reportedly under investigation too.
"The Company is cooperating with the investigators and with CONSOB and trusts that it will clarify any aspect of interest to it as it believes to have acted in compliance with the laws and regulations governing the preparation of financial reports, in accordance with accounting principles and in line with the international practice in the football industry and market conditions," the Turin giants said in a statement.
The club is accused of giving false financial communications and issuing invoices for non-existent transactions.
Italian stock-market watchdog CONSOB is also looking into the revenue it posted from player trades amid reports that the values generated were inflated. (ANSA).
