(ANSA) - Rome, February 27 - Italian golfers Lorenzo Gagli and Edoardo Molinari have been readmitted to the Oman Open after Gagli, Molinari's roommate, tested negative for the coronavirus.
They had been briefly barred from the European Tour event due to fears linked to the outbreak in Italy.
Both had been placed in quarantine.
Edoardo Molinari is the younger brother of Francesco 'Chicco' Molinari, the 2018 British Open winner.
The elder Molinari is the first ever Italian winner of a major.
The Molinaris are from Piedmont, which has had two coronavirus cases, and Gagli from Tuscany, which has also had two.
The national total is 538, most in Lombardy where the outbreak began.
