Giro: Bilbao wins, Conti still pink

Gaviria pulls out on 7th stage

(ANSA) - L'Aquila, May 17 - Spain's Pello Bilbao won the seventh stage of the Giro d'Italia after a breakaway on Friday.
    Italy's Valerio Conti kept the leader's pink jersey for the second day.
    France's Tony Gallopin came in second and Italy's Davide Formolo third after the 185km stage from Vasto near Chieti to L'Aquila. Colombian climber Fernando Gaviria, a fancied contender, pulled out with knee problems - the second big loss after the exit through injury after a fall of 2017 winner Tom Dumoulin, second favourite to Slovenia's Primoz Roglic.
