(ANSA) - Rome, February 5 - Rome Mayor Virginia Raggi said Tuesday that AS Roma's much-delayed plan to build a swanky new stadium in the south of the city can go ahead after a report by experts on the project's effect on traffic in the area gave the thumbs up. "I asked for this opinion. It was not obligatory," said Raggi, a member of the 5-Star Movement (M5S), after receiving the report from Turin Polytechnic.
"The prosecutors office had said there were no problems with the project, but I wanted to check that everything was all right and the approvals were not just formal.
    "This external report confirms this.
"The Roma stadium will happen. If they want, the proponents will be able to open the work sites by the end of the year".
