(ANSA) - Varese, November 28 - AC Milan coach Gennaro Gattuso said Wednesday "everything is Ok with (Interior Minister Matteo) Salvini after the minister criticised his tactics in a 1-1 draw with Lazio at the weekend, prompting the manager to say the League leader should stick to politics.
"It's all OK with Salvini. He said it all himself. We exchanged two texts in the last few hours. He has his problems, I have mine. We cleared it up and there's nothing ore top say," said the former Milan and Italy midfielder.
Speaking on the eve of a Europa League clash with Luxembourgish side Dudelange, Gattuso said "the row is over".
Salvini said he had been "speaking as a fan" when he said Gattuso should have replaced some players after Lazio put on three pairs of fresh legs and were pressing Milan having equalised.
Gattuso responded by saying "he should stick to politics because with all the problems we have in this country it means we're really badly off if the deputy premier starts talking about soccer".
The former hard-charging midfielder, who has also managed in Switzerland and Greece, was hailed by some as "the real leader of he opposition".
