On San Paolo better connect needed between city, club, companies

(ANSA) - Naples, September 20 - Ciro Borriello, Naples' assessor for sporting venues, said that construction sites at all 13 venues in Naples for the 2019 Universiade World University Games will be underway by October.
"Considering an average of five to six months for the work, we should be able to therefore have the construction sites closed and viable venues," he said.
"For San Paolo Stadium, work has started on the restrooms, the electrical and plumbing systems, the track, lighting, and sound, and ARU announced that work on the new seats will start by the end of the year, between November and December," Borriello said.
He said he doesn't think there should be problems for the Naples' soccer team matches, given that the builders already have experience working in other Italian stadiums.
"We just have to connect better between the companies doing the work, the city, ARU, and the Naples' soccer club, but everything will go well," he said.
Regarding the other venues, Borriello said that the Scandone pool will have two worksites, one for the building of the external pool and the other for renovation of the internal pool.
"We're completely on time, even if we start at the end of October we can do it, we're talking about five to six months, and then the external pool will stay after the Universiade as an asset to Scandone and to the city," he said.
