'Not ethical or right'

(ANSA) - Rome, July 1 - Newly elected Rome Mayor Virginia Raggi on Friday reiterated her opposition to Rome's bid for the 2024 Olympics.
"At a time when we have a debt of 13 billion euros just for extraordinary management, I think it isn't ethical or right to ask citizens to incur more debt for at least 20, 30 or 40 years," she said. The Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) has voiced the hope Raggi would reverse the stance she expressed in her recent winning run, noting that the support of CONI, the government and the city are all required to make the bid viable.
