(ANSA) - Milan, June 30 - New AC Milan coach Vincenzo Montella admitted Thursday that he faced a tough challenge to revive sleeping soccer giants AC Milan but added that he felt up to it.
"There's lots of work to do. The challenge is arduous," Montella told Premium Sport.
"I know what's in store for me and what I have to do.
"When I was little I dreamed of playing for Milan but (CEO Adriano) Galliani did not buy me," added the former Italy, Sampdoria and AS Roma forward.
"Now I'm here as coach. I have a few more grey hairs and I'll certainly be able to manage things better". The former Roma striker and Fiorentina manager takes over from caretaker coach Cristian Brocchi, who replaced Sinisa Mihajlovic in April.
Milan finished seventh in Serie A last season and have not won any trophies for five years.
